John was born in Washinton DC and eventually established roots in Chicago. One of six children, his young musical career began in the 60's when this pre-teen literally found his voice singing top 40 hits with his band at USO events, graduations, and sock hops entertaining young and old. He picked up his first guitar when someone traded a worn Teisco for a used sofa at a furniture store his dad owned and was instantly hooked. Soon he picked up some sticks and quickly realized that rhythm was in his blood. This young multi-talented musician went on to form a trio band in Washington DC playing at local bars, night clubs, and concert events opening up for major acts such as a Tanya Tucker.
John spent his adult years in Chicago where his love for the blues solidified and is contagious. His powerful sometimes gritty vocals cuts through to your soul with his classic tribute to this timeless genre. His driving guitar electrifies and his acoustic skills draws in the audience to the classic favorites he grew up with as a boy. He has now brought his love for blues/rock/funk to Colorado. John has played with many seasoned talented musicians (including his son who plays drums in his Denver area band) over the years and currently has two bands in the Denver and Colorado Springs area as well as recently launching his solo performance career. John's bands have mastered the art of energetic fluid free form music, showcasing prowess as musicians and love for tradition with their own creativity with original touches.
